Fujifilm IIS: buy will support and accelerate business expansion

Systems integrator Unigraphica is based in Liechtenstein and has been in operation for close to 40 years.

The buy expands Fujifilm’s Integrated Inkjet Solutions business, which supplies custom inkjet systems such as those fitted to production systems. The business started off in North America before expanding into Europe and Japan.

Unigraphica has nearly 900 customers worldwide in 65 countries, and has completed more than 1,600 projects involving printing, finishing and security printing.

Its partners include Kodak, Muller Martini, Actega and Sicpa. Unigraphica’s JetStar inkjet modules are available in print widths from 108mm to 1,080mm for sheetfed and web applications in mono or colour.

The deal is expected to complete later this month. CEO Joseph Schweiger remains with the business, which will become Fujifilm Unigraphica from 1 July.

Greg Balch, who heads Fujifilm’s Integrated Inkjet Solutions, said: “We are thrilled to have the knowledge, expertise, and strong reputation of Joseph Schweiger and the entire Unigraphica team joining us.

“I am confident that this addition will support and accelerate our business expansion.”

Fujifilm’s stated aim is to accelerate business growth “by building a global manufacturing structure that satisfies the needs of the inkjet market”.
