Eltex Elektrostatik GmbH at All in Print China 2014(2)

In recent years, the publication printing industry has already entered the digital era. Some big printing groups in China, besides installing the web digital printing presses, they have also added some in-line folders and bindery systems to integrate into such high-speed presses. On the other hand, due to the over-drying of paper after getting through the printing stations and dryer, the in-line finishing process might cause subsequent problems, such as fibre damage, wrinkles and different lengths between top / bottom covers and interior pages, which can hardly be overcome. For printing speed up to 250m/min (some web ink-jet presses can already reach such speed), such over-drying problems will become more serious and cannot be improved by the normal re-moistening systems, which can just fit for presses with lower speeds.

During the last All-in-print 2014, Eltex Elektrostatik GmbH, Germany has introduced a new product: Webmoister 3000 re-moistening system for such typical application. After coming out from the dryer, the paper web is charged up with electrostatic and is then undergone a passage through water sprays from high speed nozzles on both sides of paper, and the water content can then evenly penetrate into the fibres inside the paper to enable it to recover most of the water content, which was lost in the drying process.

Such a new product / new technology has already been adapted by a few advanced printing factories in Europe and U.S.A., and it can be foreseen that it will be introduced into the market of China soon!
